• 0 km: Skringstrup

  The new starting area

  You start your ride at Skringstrup city park, where a green area has been designed for kids and adults to play in The Wild West. Here, you begin on the newly renovated "Himmerlandsstien" path.

• 5 km: Borup Moor

  Moor landscape

  Enjoy the view of the beautiful nature

  Here on the moor, you can meet sheep and enjoy the landscape with the heather-clad hills.

• 9 km: C.E. Flensborg Plantation

  Gravel and nature

  Full gas through the large plantation

  The cultivated heath stands today as a plantation with different vegetation. In the middle of the plantation is Støvhøj, a Bronze Age mound which is one of the area's highest places with its 42 meters above sea level.

• 14 km: Lovns Bredning

  Views across the fjord

  You will ride right next to the coast with views over Limfjorden.

• 18 km: Ulbjerg

  The old starting town

  Enjoy the ride through Ulbjerg, where locals usually cheer the riders on

  Ulbjerg is situated in a beautiful fjord landscape with the 30 meter tall Ulbjerg Cliff down towards the fjord and the beach, where you can go for a swim in the summer.

  The area is also popular with hikers all year round, and during the spring a special type of flower covers everything in purple.

• 24 km: Sundstrup Habour

  1st feed station

  Breath in the fresh sea air and fill your energy stores

  Here, you pass by the habour where fish and mussels from Limfjorden come in. This is also the location of the 1st feed station.

  Continuing from here, you enter the countryside and experience the area's biggest biogas plant, which provides heating for the local residents.

• 32 km: Hjarbaek Fjord

  Holiday paradise at Hjarbaek Fjord

  Do you like fishing or golf, camping or summerhouse?

  Here at Lynderup, everything is possible, and you will experience this from your bike.

  There are put and take fishing lakes, golf courses, a holiday center, a camp site and a summerhouse area all with views over Hjarbaek Fjord.

  From here, you continue through a hilly landscape before arriving at the first feed station of the day.

• 43 km: Kærby Hill

  Climbing and more views

  The cheering from the locals in the small city of Nr. Rind makes the climbing a lot easier

  On the hill there are great views and a few shelter places, but you continue up the hill to the city of Nr. Rind, where the locals will cheer you on.

• 53 km: Skals

  2nd feed station

  In Skals, we have lunch ready for you.

  You will be served by a local organization once again.

  From here, you continue to the flat landscape at the bottom of Hjarbaek Fjord, where "the sand road" might challenge you.

• 57 km: Hjarbaek

  Heading away from the sea

  You pass the hill Vorde Bavnehoej before reaching another holiday center in Hjarbaek.

  The habour and camp sites lay side by side with the many summerhouses in this area.

  This is your last chance to enjoy the sea view, because the rest of the ride heads inland.

  You ride across fields to Løgstrup and continue on Haervejen.

• 66 km: Fiskbæk

  Feed station 3

  The last feed station of the day is in Fiskbæk after 66 km, where a local resident opens her garden for you.

  The toughest challenges are behind you, but you have still got the exciting trail in Unddalslund Plantation to look forward to.

  Fuel up, so you're ready to hit the trails.

• 72 km: Undallslund Plantation

  Viborg Trail Arena

  Viborg Trail Arena has established 100 kilometers of MTB-trails in the county of Viborg.

  Now it's time to try the green trail in Undallslund, where almost six kilometers of single trail awaits you.

  This well-made trail, which is very popular, will hopefully provide you with an experience to remember.

  From here, you can take it easy the last few kilometers along the path Himmerlandsstien to Viborg.

• 85 km: Finish in Viborg

  The adventure ends for all road, mountain bike and gravel riders on the Parade Square in Viborg.

  There are partying everywhere in Viborg, with the city hosting its annual celebration Snapsting.

  It gives you every opportunity to pay tribute to your magnificent achievement.

  The last few kilometers are all about soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying your accomplishment.

  You have completed The Viking Gran Fondo, and now it's time to be celebrated.

  You are going to ride the red carpet through the center of one of Denmark's oldest and most charming cities, Viborg.

  Slow down and give yourself a pat on the back.

  Now it's time to unclip and celebrate your achievement.

  This is where participants from all routes finish and meet. You can enjoy a well deserved meal and a cold drink while taking it all in.

  All of Viborg is in party-mode this weekend as the city hosts its annual celebration Snapsting.

  That gives you every opportunity to hang around, enjoy the music and atmosphere and celebrate what has hopefully been a great day in the saddle.
