You can choose to either stay in Denmark before the start of the event, after finishing or do both. There are plenty of great options of accommodation spread throughout Jutland.

The event has eleven different starting points, but all routes end up in the same finish line area in the center of the historic city of Viborg.

Our recommendations for a short trip

If you want to experiencing a great event and then head back home soon thereafter, we recommend that you stay in or close to the starting point of your chosen route. This will also minimize your time spent in your car driving.

Preferably, you arrive to your accommodation at least one day before the event. In this way, you can have a good night's sleep and easily get to the start on the morning of the event. After finishing the event, you can catch a bus from the finishing city of Viborg back to your starting point.

From here, you can either head straight back home or take another night's sleep at your accommodation, so you're ready to leave the next day.

You can also arrive at your starting point at the morning of the event, park your car at the starting area, ride the event and catch a bus back to your starting point after finishing. From here, you can drive to your chosen accommodation.

Our recommendations for a multi-day trip

If you are looking for a multi-day trip and plan on bringing your family or friends with you as well, we recommend that you stay in the finishing city of Viborg.

As Viborg is hosting its annual and iconic cultural festival Snapsting with great foods, music, culture and partying during the same week as The Viking Gran Fondo, there are many experiences to be had in the days leading up to the event as well as after finishing.

This will also allow you to fully enjoy the experience and atmosphere in the finish line area and not worry about transportation.

It's possible to be transported by bus with your bike from Viborg to the starting point of your route on the morning of the event.
