Starting out 2017

After five weeks in Australia, under good conditions the gymnasts were facing a completely different kind of adventure when they arrived in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta.

Workshop in Jakarta

Back home in Denmark it was Christmas time, but in Indonesia it was rainy season when the team arrived. It was wet and warm but the heat and humidity did not stop the gymnasts in visiting local schools, universities, temples, shopping malls and even a scout association to make a lot of fun and sweaty shows and workshops.
It was exciting cultural meetings with a lot of children, young people and older. They all showed a lot of interest and enjoyed dancing and moving together with the Danish gymnasts. After each show or workshop we had a long selfie-session which was a new experience for the Danish team.

It has been an exciting experience to be so far from home during Christmas month. However, it is not always easy to find the Danish Christmas atmosphere when the usual cold weather and Danish Christmas traditions are being changed with a lot of sun, temples and barricaded highways.

Christmas and New Year in China

Just after Indonesia the team arrived in China. During Christmas and New Year the team made workshops and performed for more than 2000 enthusiastic children. It has been three weeks in a great country with good shows and interesting workshops.

It was really cool to celebrate Christmas with a new family of 32 members of the team. We all had Christmas traditions of our own so we had to make a little compromise that day.
